Quality Projects
QIC provides consultancy services in quality improvement, and undertakes
research projects on its own initiative. Recent projects include:
Project: Evaluate the Leading Practice Support Program for Multi
Purpose Services
(in association with the Australian Council on Health Care Standards)
Client: Federal Department of Health and Ageing
Description: Evaluate a quality improvement funding program and
make recommendations to the Program funding bodies. Multi Purpose Services
(MPS) are located in rural and remote locations and provide a mix of acute,
primary and residential aged care services.
Year: 2004 - ongoing
Project: Develop a Quality Framework for Health Call Centres
and Health Advice Web sites in Australia
(as project manager and Consortium member with the Australian Institute
for Primary Care, Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and
the Health Issues Centre.)
Client: Federal Department of Health and Ageing
Description: Advise on the role and scope of standards in Health
Call Centres and the processes through which they are developed both nationally
and internationally. Make recommendations on the role of quality assurance
and improvement in a nationally coordinated system regarding access, staffing,
clinical and general governance.
Year: 2002-2003
Project: Review the literature on standards and quality improvement
processes in health and community services in Australia
(in association with the Australian Institute for Primary Care)
Client: Federal Department of Health and Ageing
Description: Develop a publishable paper on the different types
and approaches to standards and quality, standards agencies and products
in Australia, and issues for the future. (see also Publications)
